Men receive higher pensions than women

The chart shows the average net pensions in euros across Germany for the years 2013 and 2023. 

Women’s pensions have increased significantly more than men’s over the past ten years: from 2013 to 2023, the average pension for women rose by 62 percent, while for men it increased by only 30 percent.

On behalf of the German Insurance Association (GDV), Prognos calculated the net pension payments at the district level for the year 2023. The calculations are based on available regional distribution data from 2021, as well as national and state-level data until 2023.
