Statistical Yearbook of German Insurance 2012

Private households and companies are day in and day out exposed to numerous risks. In modern societies the private insurance industry is indispensable for dealing with these risks.

Demographic changes, the challenges of climate change, but also the ever tighter public budgets will further increase the importance of private insurance in the next few decades. At the same time, private insurers are among the most important institutional investors in economic terms.
